To celebrate the 45th anniversary of the first excavations at the Gravettian site Kraków Spadzista, a first conference “World of Gravettian Hunters” was held from 25 to 28 June 2013 in Kraków, Poland. In all, 88 scientists participated, representing 56 scientific institutions in Europe and North America. During nine sessions, 48 lectures and 16 posters were presented, representing archaeology, palaeontology, zooarchaeology, geology, and other scientific disciplines. In February, 2015, 39 papers from the conference were published in a special volume (No 359-360) of the journal Quaternary International.

In our opinion the first conference provided a valuable opportunity for colleagues to present and discuss important results of Gravettian studies. We would like to continue this opportunity to share knowledge, and we invite you to a second conference “World of Gravettian Hunters.” The conference is planned for May, 2016, in Kraków. This time we would like to invite colleagues to present results of studies of Gravettian as well as Epigravettian sites. We hope to share recent results not only in the field of archeology but also in zooarcheozoology, palaeoanthropology, geology, paleobotany, and all other related fields. We will publish proceedings of this meeting in an international peer-reviewed journal. Please feel free to extend our invitation to your colleagues, and contact us if you have any questions.
